What will this child become?
I wrote this baptismal introit in 1997 for Paul Bassett, a life‐long chess friend.
The words are based on Luke Chapter 1 Verse 66:
All who heard it were deeply impressed and said, ‘What will this child become?’ For indeed the hand of the Lord was upon him.
This recording was made by Octave, a small choir (10 voices) in which I sang. The solo voice is Lynne Baillie, soprano. The vocal trio is sung by Annette Morrison, Kay Brooke and Liz Taylor, and was recorded on a separate take. The organ accompaniment is synthesised.
